GameShelfClub is being built as a place to track prices on physical games and trade them with other collectors. This page explains what we collect while the site is in early access, and what we do with it. The short version: only what you type in, nothing sold, no tracking cookies.
What we collect
Your email address, if you sign up for early access. We use it to tell you when early access opens and to send occasional product updates. We store the address and the date you signed up.
Retailer and shop suggestions, if you send one. We store the text you typed (a shop or retailer name and a town or postcode) and the date. We don't link suggestions to your email.
Anonymous visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you.
What we don't do
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, we don't sell or share your email with anyone, and we don't send it to advertisers.
Postcode search
The shop finder looks up your postcode with postcodes.io, a free UK postcode service, directly from your browser. We never receive or store your postcode. If you use "Use my location", your browser shares your location with the page only, to sort shops by distance. It is not sent to us.
Other services the site loads
Our fonts come from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Shop listings come from OpenStreetMap data, which we host ourselves.
Where your data is kept
Signups and suggestions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare hosts the site and processes data on our behalf.
Legal basis and how long we keep it
We rely on your consent to store your email address. We keep it until early access has launched and you have had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Suggestions are kept while they are useful for improving the shop and retailer lists.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe. To make a request, contact us at [contact email to be added]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy, for example when accounts and trading launch, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
